Oven, stove and cooktop repair in Aurora

Aurora has an unusual share of gas cooking. The mature homes west of Yonge in Aurora Heights and Aurora Village run gas ranges, and the estate kitchens in Hills of St Andrew, Aurora Estates and along Bayview run Wolf, Thermador and Miele gas or dual-fuel ranges with separate cooktops. Bayview Northeast and Bayview Wellington are mostly the electric ranges that came in the 2000s builder packages. We repair all of them, and gas work is done by a licensed technician.

What is wrong with my oven or stove?

  • Oven not heating. Burnt-out bake element on electric ovens, often visible as a break or blister. On gas ovens, a weak igniter that glows but never opens the valve.
  • Temperature is off. Temperature sensor reading wrong or a control board drifting. We replace the sensor and calibrate.
  • One burner dead. Surface element, the infinite switch behind the knob, or a failed radiant element under a glass cooktop. A gas burner not lighting is the igniter, spark module or a clogged burner head.
  • Gas smell. Turn off the gas at the shut-off and call. Igniter, valve or fitting; a licensed technician handles it.
  • Door won't close, seal or lock. Hinges, door gasket, or the self-clean lock motor. A bad gasket is why preheating takes forever.
  • Error codes, F1, F2, F3. Usually the temperature sensor or the control board.

What it costs

Pricing depends on the appliance, the brand, the fault and the part, so we do not publish a price list. Tell us what it is doing and we will tell you what to expect before anyone comes out. Call or email for a quote.

Brands we repair

Samsung, LG, GE, Whirlpool, Frigidaire, KitchenAid, Bosch, Maytag, Electrolux, Kenmore, Wolf, Thermador, Miele and Viking.

Repair or replace?

The rule of thumb: if the appliance is under about ten years old and the repair is well under the cost of a comparable new one, repair usually wins. On premium built-ins that is true almost regardless of age, because replacement runs into five figures and has to fit existing cabinetry. Sealed-system leaks on freestanding fridges, cracked washer tubs and control boards that are no longer made are the usual exceptions. We tell you which side of that line you are on before any work starts, so you are not throwing money at a lost cause.

It depends on the brand, the fault and the part, so we do not publish a price list. Tell us what the oven or stove is doing and we will tell you what to expect before anyone comes out. Call (905) 000-0000 or email hello@yorkregionappliancepros.ca for a quote.

How soon can you get to Aurora?

Call (905) 000-0000 or email hello@yorkregionappliancepros.ca and we will give you the earliest available appointment and a real arrival window. No-cooling fridges and active leaks get priority.

Which oven or stove brands do you repair in Aurora?

Samsung, LG, GE, Whirlpool, Frigidaire, KitchenAid, Bosch, Maytag, Wolf and most others. Common parts such as bake element, igniter, temperature sensor are carried for the major brands.

Do you service Aurora Heights, Bayview Northeast, Hills of St Andrew?

Yes. We cover all of Aurora, including Aurora Heights, Bayview Northeast, Hills of St Andrew, Aurora Village, Bayview Wellington, Aurora Estates. Aurora Estates and St Andrew homes commonly have premium built-ins (Miele, Sub-Zero, Wolf) that need factory-spec parts and longer lead times.

Is it worth repairing, or should I replace it?

If the appliance is under about ten years old and the repair is well under the cost of a comparable new unit, repair usually wins. We tell you which side of that line you are on before any work starts.

Our Wolf range in Hills of St Andrew has one burner that won't light. Do you service Wolf?

Yes. On Wolf gas ranges a burner that clicks without lighting is usually the igniter or spark module, sometimes a clogged burner head. Parts are factory-ordered, so it is typically a second visit, and we quote before ordering. Stop using that burner until it is fixed.

The gas oven in our older Aurora Village house clicks but won't heat. Dangerous?

Turn it off and call. It is nearly always a weak igniter that glows but never opens the gas valve, a routine repair, but a burner clicking without lighting can let gas accumulate. A licensed technician does the work.
